My clients think of me as their in-house counsel on call because I take the time to understand their goals, their business and their challenges. I make sure they understand the legal framework within which they must function and I work as a team member to help them win in the marketplace. My areas of focus are compliance, regulatory guidance, operations support, and advertising review.
As a former assistant general counsel for GlaxoSmithKline Consumer Healthcare, I guided the business on a variety of issues concerning social media, public relations strategies, privacy, claim support, clinical design, regulatory compliance, data use, and retail sales. I was also the managing attorney to the global marketing and R&D teams responsible for developing new products and claims for global consumer brands and worked on new product development for Europe, Latina, Asia, and the US.
Prior to working for GSK, I was a litigator at K&L Gates.
I am an adjunct Professor of Law and the University of Pittsburgh School of Law and also am the director of Pitt Law’s new, accelerated, fully online graduate certificate program in Health Care Compliance.
I volunteer regularly for Neighborhood Legal Services, and am an active member of the Public Service Committee of the Allegheny County Bar Association. Portions of the fees I earn go to support the causes described in Service.
I received a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature from the University of Arizona and received my Juris Doctor, magna cum laude, from the State University of New York, University of Buffalo School of Law. Go Bills.
